“Why are you bringing the chair outside?” my four-year-old asks. It’s a very worthy question. Why am I? It’s nearly midnight and here I am, writing when I should be sleeping. It’s what happens when fall asleep with Wally and wake a half hour later, groggy but then wired at a time when I need rest. Oh well. Today I wrote about beauty and my Sweet sweet summertime. Soft soft summertime. I love summer, as most Minnesotans do - with a strong grasp, a yearning to be outdoors always, that fleeting feeling that it will all be over soon.
